Setting Up a Gmail Account - Why and How

Gmail has quickly become the most popular, free emailing hosting platform. In this article, we will look at why you should set up a Gmail account and how to do it.

So, how do you go about setting up a Gmail account?

Fortunately, setting up a Gmail account is very easy.

To begin, you need to visit Google.com, which is the hub of all Google's activities. Once you are on Google's website, you will want to click on the "Gmail" choice that you see at the top of the screen. After clicking this, you will be presented with a window which allows you to login to your email or create a new account, which is what you will want to do if you are setting up a new Gmail account.

After you click on the choice to setup a new Gmail account, you will asked to put in your name and choose an email addresses. Gmail has gotten so popular that it will be difficult to get your exact name as your Google mail address. For example, if you are Frank Wilson, you will probably not be able to get FWilson@gmail.com. You will not to choose some variation of this. Many people elect to add numbers to their name or include their middle name.

When choosing an email address, many people do not know that they have the option of using a period in the email. For example, you may want to try Frank.Wilson@gmail.com or F.Wilson or F.Wilson.Ca, which could represent California. This often looks better than something like FWilson54786@gmail.com.

After you fill out this information, you simply need to fill in the code and accept the Google Mail agreement and you will be on your way to enjoy Gmail.
