The Most Effective Website Traffic Generation Methods

While a site has to build a reputation so that it is known, what it deals in is the key to figuring out how to gain traffic. Between proper marketing, incentive plans, and attractive products and services, a site should have thousands of hits every hour.

The Amway Global Corporation institutes all three of these concepts. For those not familiar with the site, Amway Global sells thousands of goods from its own lines of skin care and vitamins, to common name brand items like M&M's. But there are many sites selling high quality, well known products. The difference with Amway is that it offers incentives to its customers by letting them make money by referring customers to them. Some of these customers actually earn a full-time income as a result, leading to much word of mouth advertising. The company also advertises on television and the web.

For those who run sites that produce content, such as news, advice, and other forms of information, a site like The Untrained Housewife (UTH) would be a good example of strong marketing and incentives. UTH is an electronic magazine, or e-zine, that allows aspiring authors with expertise in running a home to post their wisdom in their own columns.

Those who can bring traffic and revenue to the site are rewarded in profit sharing. While this is a great incentive, the marketing is handled by the site's founder, Angela England, a housewife from Oklahoma who promotes the site via her blog and through networks she has created on Facebook and at writing conventions where she speaks professionally, bringing great notoriety to those associated with her and her endeavors.

People care about things that they are offered a reason to care about. And when a site can offer incentives that allow a person to take care of his or her family, a brand loyalty is built that keeps them coming back.
