Human Racing Against the Machine, Or Manual SEO Vs SEO Software

Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the most mind-blowing race in the history of mankind! Today we are going to witness the bloody battle between a supersonic fireball F1 'Ferrari' and a stripped-engine horseless carriage 'Ford T-model'.

Ready, set, go!
Oh, 'Ferrari' is shooting like a rocket, leaving in the dust 'Ford T' that can't even get its engine started. Poor thing. Look at this red devil! It cleaves air streams like a dagger with roaring sound of its powerful engine. Breathtaking... What? Where is that old jalopy? Eh, hardly has it passed the first hundred meters as it's already got its engine steaming. That's a lost cause.

Time for pit stop. Wow, automated process of tire change and computerized engine check are amazing: just after a few seconds the Ferrari is on the track again! It flashes the first circuit, the second one, the third...

Yeah, ladies and gentlemen we've got the winner! Red Devil is on the top again! That was fantastic!
...and what about our old buddy 'Ford'? Alas, but it died halfway on the first circuit...

Getting high ranking in search engines results is like a race. Who comes first snatches a bundle. That is why the choice of the right vehicle to drive your site to the top spot is so vitally important for running business on-line.

Basically there are two ways to hit top 10 of search engines results: optimizing your site manually or with the help of SEO tools. Consequently there are two clashing camps of folks, who support the former and the latter variants of website optimization.

There has always been a lot of debate around SEO software and its effectiveness. Some say that a good set of SEO tools is all you need to improve your search rankings and to get a guaranteed number one placement in search results. Others object to that, saying that SEO software is totally useless and manual optimization is the only way to go. Moreover they even put forward the arguments that SEO tools can get your website banned and that buying this software is just draining money down the pipe.

So where is the truth? It's somewhere out there. Let's dig it up.

There are some irrefutable advantages of SEO software over manual ways of optimization. Nowadays users can find a lot of really great SEO tools that make the complicated process of website optimization a lot easier. SEO software can make your site ride high and your on-line sales skyrocket without great pains and efforts.

First of all good SEO software is an indispensable assistant in the process of gathering and analyzing the data you need to plan and shape your SEO strategy and tactics. Doing that by hand is quite time-consuming and not always effective. SEO tools are irreplaceable when it comes to collecting and breaking up the data or monitoring the process of site optimization.

Another great advantage of SEO tools is that they automate wearying repetitive tasks such as link popularity monitoring, rank checking, backlink checking, reporting etc. Doing those monkey-job tasks by hand is like looking for a needle in a bundle of hay and you may end up being totally lost in that flow of data. And if you are doing SEO on a large scale, using purely manual methods of website optimization is no way possible.

SEO can help users fill their sites with search engine friendly content to look yummy in the eyes of search engines spiders and crawlers.

Besides advanced SEO tools streamline the process of SEO to a T. They can perform some tasks simultaneously and even run them on autopilot. These features make SEO software extremely user-friendly and contribute to overall effectiveness and success of an SEO process.

And after all one more convincing argument in favor of SEO software is that even inexperienced users will never run a risk of getting banned, because of black hat optimization. With search-engine-friendly SEO software you will never break the rules and regulations and avoid unethical presentation of content to search engine spiders and the internet users.

As you can see the process of website optimization is a complex thing, requiring complex approaches. SEO tools enable you to crack it easily. You don't need any analytical skills or inside-out knowledge of SEO techniques. Smart SEO tools will help you find the best solutions and to pave your way to success.

So it's up to you to decide whether to sweat over your site optimization, and spend sleepless nights on doing daunting monotonous tasks manually, or to take advantage of the latest SEO software and focus on your business.

Just remember: the only thing you gotta do is choose the right racing car which will give you a ride to the top.

One of the world's leaders in SEO software is SEO Power Suite. To learn more about this and other SEO tools, check SEO Power Suite reviews and other SEO tools reviews.

Benefits of Using Both SEO Techniques and Google AdWords

Everyone has heard of these terms but to a website or business owner, the success of his venture depends on how well he or she understands the difference between them. Let me give you a clue. They are both related to advertising in one way or the other. Once you read this article, you will know how to go about using each method of advertising in the most effective manner possible.

Search Engine Optimization:

As the name suggests, Search Engine Optimization is the process by which your web page is optimized to appear in the first few results of Google's search page also known as SERP (Search Engine Results Page). This is not as simple as it sounds unfortunately. To get your page onto the first page you must actively promote your site using legitimate and natural means by which the site gets more visitors, reciprocal links, backlinks and ultimately high quality traffic. Google will promote your site to a high position in the search engine rankings only if you have gained your reputation through thoroughly natural means and this a includes a wide variety of white hat methods as mentioned above.

So why does a high rank in Search Engine Results matter?

The answer to this question is quite simple. It matters because if your site appears in the first few results for any particular search phrase you have decided to optimize it for, then your potential visitors who search for the same phrase will most probably click on the first few results displayed in the search page and would ignore lower ranking ones just as you would. Hence, a lot of value is attached to being as high as possible on rankings as this is the best source for high quality targeted traffic which would bring profits to your website or service you offer.

However, it must be said that it is very difficult to get a top ranking for an already established keyword as the competition for such a keyword is intense and one cannot expect much improvement in this regard. Much depends on the choice of keywords the webmasters use for optimizing the site.

Google AdWords:

This technique of gaining visibility on the internet has long been the staple of millions of website owners who want a share of the popularity Google affords them. This is how it works. When you start a blog, website or forum which has substantial original content and abides by the rules of Google's TOS (Terms of Service) you can advertise your website to gain more visitors and benefit from this exposure. The Ad words campaign allows website owners to choose certain keywords that are most relevant to their websites and depending on the competition for this keyword a price is fixed by Google for each click a visitor makes on the ad. This price is known as the Click through rate (CTR) for the ad and can range from a few cents to even dollars for competitive niches.

Google associates every keyword with a bunch of slots, each of which is auctioned away at a bidding price to the customer. The cost of buying a slot depends on factors like the location of the ad, the quality of the landing page, the competitive nature of the niche among other factors. The cost of buying a slot and the CTR will determine the total cost an advertiser needs to spend to use AdWords.

Thus it can be seen that by using Google AdWords one can bring dedicated and targeted traffic to one's site in a direct manner whereas when SEO techniques are used to increase a site's popularity, natural traffic arrives at the site. It is hence important that webmasters should use both these tools in a healthy manner to gain the maximum advantage from the high quality traffic they bring.

Ask and You Shall Receive - More Links That Is!

What do most web site owners or webmasters want? Well, other than bushel baskets full of cash, they want links! Yes, they want LINKS. Lots of inbound links... The more links the better!

Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious and only think about the complex and complicated methods of linking strategies. I'm going to tell you about one often overlooked page you can put on your site to get a few extra links. A page that is easy to create and can help build those valuable inbound links... it's simple too. What is it? A page with instructions or suggestions on how to link to your site. Sound too simple to work? Don't assume everyone knows how to do these things, the fact is a lot of people don't.

There are several reasons why this helps build links. You may think if someone wants to link to you they'll just do it, right? Maybe not. By having a detailed instructions page it gives YOU the opportunity to suggest the text that's used in an inbound link - this is call "anchor text". In case you don't know, that text is important to your search engine rankings. Some people WILL use your suggestions, some won't, but some will and that will aid your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts. There are a lot of sites that are operated by individuals with limited HTML skills. By providing the HTML code to copy and paste, you help and encourage these people to successfully link to your site. Every link counts. What if adding this page to your site only gets you a handful of links you otherwise would not have had? To me it's worth it. And you if get a even a few links from sites with a high page rank value it will really help your ranking.

Plus, just having a link in your menu saying "Link to Me" will act as a suggestion and prompt a few people to link to you who may not have thought about it and that will get some links you probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

I already had "How to Link to Me" information on the contact page of my one of my web sites, but I didn't have a dedicated "How to Link to Me" page on my main blog until I wrote this article. In fact, most sites don't and the site owner never thinks of doing it.

A "How to Link to Me" page should include a variety of suggested text links, links with thumbnail images, and maybe even an ad or two. If you are suggesting links with images, give the well worn phrase "right-click to save images locally and then upload to your web server". One of the biggest mistakes people make is assuming that everyone knows how to do the simple stuff... don't assume that everyone knows how to do these things, they don't. Also, make text areas to hold the suggested HTML so that the resulting page displays the actual HTML text and is easy for someone to copy and paste.

Make Easy Money Online As an Affiliate Using SEO Marketing

If you have ever looked into SEO marketing (search engine optimisation) then you may have thought to yourself that there is a lot involved and a lot to learn in order to get good results. If you follow a few simple rules then you can cut out the learning curve and get started right away.

Its a fact that with this simple guide, you can make easy money online as an affiliate with strategic SEO marketing. Below i have outlined the steps you must take in order to gain first page rankings within Google, which will send targeted traffic to any offer you are currently promoting. I will also give you a simple method that sends the traffic directly to the offer.

First off, i would like to say that targeted traffic is the life blood of any affiliate campaign. Without lots of targeted traffic, you will not get the results you expect from the hours of hard work you put in. I can tell you that you do not have to spend hours in front of the computer to get results.

Finding A Market To Target

I always start off any campaign by visiting the ClickBank marketplace or any other affiliate or CPA network that i am a member of. If you use ClickBank then look at offers that have a high gravity as this means that there are lots of other affiliates promoting the offer.

Don't look at competition as a threat, when you see lots of competition, the chances are that there's a lot of money to be made, or the other people promoting it would not waste their time otherwise.

- For the purpose of this article, i will choose the "Make Money Online" market. So i have been over to the ClickBank marketplace and have seen that "Miracle Traffic Bot" has the best gravity. This is a type of software that would increase traffic so its on a popular subject.

Finding Your Keywords

Once you have found a market that you wish to target, its time to find the keywords. I use the Google keyword tool as this gives you a great idea of whats popular within the market. Your SEO marketing depends on these kind of tools to find the best words to target.

Choose two keywords that have a high monthly search volume so you know that there's enough traffic to convert into sales. Ideally you would target a keyword with at least 5,000 monthly searches. When you have two of these keywords, you can move on to the next stage.

- As an example for this article, i have visited the keyword tool to find keywords for the product i picked from the "finding a market" section shown above and i would choose "increase targeted traffic" and "targeted website traffic". These are the two keywords that you want to rank on the first page of results within Google.

The Method You Can Use

As you are using SEO marketing to advertise your affiliate program, you would need to use a strong domain in order to gain the best rankings. If you use a new domain then Google will not take much notice of your site for a long, long time, so its easier to use a popular domain that has a high authority within Google such as HubPages, EzineArticles or Squidoo.

For the purpose of this article i will say that I'm going to use EzineArticles to gain first page rankings for the keywords i have picked.

When i write my article, i must make sure that my keywords are visible within the title, the summary and within the body of my article to make it as relevant as possible for ranking purposes. I usually place each keyword in my article "once" every "100" words.

TIP: For my keywords picked above i can merge them together which is ideal, so my title could be
"Increase Your Targeted Website Traffic Using Automated Software". This allows me to then increase my rankings for the keywords chosen as well as making the article nice to read.

Write a good, 500 word article that is related to the offer you are promoting, making sure that you explain the issues surrounding this subject and then a brief outline of how people can overcome the issue. Don't write the article in a way that would advertise what you are promoting or your article may be rejected. The resource box is used to recommend a product related to the article.

Direct Linking Approach

I have used direct linking a lot in the past and have had great results. All you have to do is register a domain that is related to the product you are promoting. Use the forwarding feature within your domain control panel to redirect any visitors to your affiliate link provided by Google.

You can then include this link within the resource box of your article which is the section you can use to advertise the cure to the issues you raise within your article.

This method is ideal for newbies who cannot yet create landing pages. I would personally always use my own simple landing page that would capture the name and email address before sending the visitor to the offer as i can then sell other related products later on. The direct linking approach is not for everyone but if you cannot make a landing page then you can use this method to break down this barrier and make sales.

Increasing Your Rankings

In order to increase the rankings for your keywords, you must build relevant backlinks to the web address of your EzineArticles page. You must use anchor text which include your keywords with a link to your article. The more backlinks you build, the higher your rankings will become.

Write a few articles per day and link back to your main article within the resource box. Use many different article directories and accounts on Squidoo, HubPages, Wetpaint, Zimbio, Weebly, Blogger and WordPress to build quality links to your main ezine article.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this article as it explains how you can make easy money online as an affiliate using SEO marketing. Get stuck in and take action or you will never make money online.

Ways to Increase Targeted Traffic and Get Your Website Ranked High in Google For Free

With so many web pages available on the internet you can be forgiven for thinking that there is no way at all that you could get your website ranked on the first page of Google. This however could not be further from the truth and you may be surprised at how easy it is to do this providing that you follow some guidelines and pick the keyword phrases that you wish to rank highly with carefully.

There are a number of factors that determines how your website is ranked by the search engines, too many to cover in this short article, however we will touch on some of the important points that you need to follow.

Firstly, you need to make sure that you do extensive keyword research to check out the competition and also find out actually what people are searching for. It is important that you pick keywords that are going to be relevant to your business as it is the quality of traffic that will determine how well your business does. For example, if you had a business that sold tennis racket strings, you would want to target people who are specifically looking for tennis racket strings and therefore not focus on the keyword tennis, as this is such a general term and would potentially get you lots of traffic, however it would not be relevant targeted traffic that your business actually requires.

Once you have a few sets of targeted keywords then you can begin to make sure that your website is optimized for these keywords. This is where on and off page optimization comes in. Google will 'look' at the content of your website rank your website based on how optimized it is. On-site refers to the actually content of your website. This element is critically important for all of the major search engines is the fact that your site has to feature high-quality unique content. This does not necessarily mean that everything on your site or blog has to be unique but it is nevertheless true that the more unique content you feature on the site, the more search engine friendly it will be. Within this content you put in your keywords to enable the search engines to find and rank for these terms. Off site optimization refers to the ways that keywords are placed within the HTML code and title headers of your web pages. This also is very important.

Once your website is optimized for the search engines then that are lots of other important steps that you can then take to get your website ranked and begin to increase targeted traffic. The techniques include building backlinks, posting videos, using Web2.0 sites and creating and writing blogs to name but a few.

Remember, traffic is important however targeted traffic to your potential market is king and this is where all your efforts should be concentrated on.

Buying a New Domain

So, to use the ubiquitous 'widget' example, if you had a site that was selling widgets you could first try and buy the domain "widgets.com/.org/.net" etc if this is taken try "sellingwidgets.com" and so on until you get the domain you are happy with.

If your product or service is country specific then I would always recommend getting a country specific top level domain (ccTLD - Country Code Top Level Domain) such as.co.uk for the UK,.fr for France,.ca for Canada etc. Most registrars will sell these domains, but if you are struggling to buy one for your specific location type your ccTLD followed by 'domain names' into the search engine and you should get a good choice from there (for example '.co.uk domain names'). If not then feel free to get in touch with me and I will help.

So which domain extension is the best? There are so many extensions these days that opinion is very divided. The official line taken by Google is that the extension does not matter, but all the evidence points to the contrary. In general the top domain extensions in order of preference are

1. .com

2. .net or.org

3. .info or.biz

.com's have always been more brand able and tend to do very well in the search engines.

.org's are good too, but are still often associated with charities and organisation.

.info's tend to be a little cheaper but because of this have always been seen as a little spammy. Originally they were associated with information sites, and if you have a site which is based mostly on supplying information then this will still be a good bet.

The use of hyphens in a domain name is another grey area. Generally a hyphen will make your site less brand able and harder for people to remember, but can still be a good idea if it helps you get your keyword rich domain name. I would not recommend however any more than 1 hyphen. So in our example above you could use selling-widgets.com but I would steer clear of you-selling-widgets.com

And finally we can move on to prefix and suffix. A prefix comes before your keyword and a suffix after it. So for instance in the widgets example your keyword could be prefixed by 'online' or 'your' or 'buy' thus making onlinewidgets.com or buywidgets.com

The suffix would simply come after your keyword, such as widgets online.com or widgetsreviews.com

In general I would recommend using prefix and suffix if it is suitable for your business, if you are selling a product online then putting a prefix of 'buy' or 'buying' is very viable. Also of course the prefix and suffix are good if the domain name and extension you are primarily after are not available.

That's it for now. As always feel free to ask any questions or leave a comment.

How to Optimize a Dynamic Website

Internet technologies and e-commerce are advanced now and still developing day by day. As a result people prefer to have a dynamic website for their businesses or their online presence. So for some webmasters or new search engine optimizers who have experience in doing SEO for a simple static websites becomes necessary to know also about how to optimize a Dynamic website?

For successful SEO of a dynamic website it is require to have some complex search engine technology and methods that are substantially different and much more sophisticated than the SEO techniques used for ordinary, more conventional "static" web sites.

In this article you can find some useful and important tips for how to optimize a dynamic sites but first I would like to describe about what are Dynamic webpags or sites.

Introduction to Dynamic Websites: Now days often business websites are dynamic site means that the web pages are dynamically built pages that allow user interaction and online shopping cart is an example for that.

Dynamic sites are websites whose pages are generated on the fly and usually built with a programming language such as ASP, PHP or JAVA. Often Dynamic sites are database-driven means that the site content is stored in a database and the dynamic code "pulls" the content from a database.

Problems in indexing Dynamic URLs:

It is really difficult to get dynamic web sites properly indexed in the major search engines unless they are professionally optimized. Even most search engines claim that they now index the majority of dynamic web sites but still only in some cases and it is limited to a number of URLs.

One of the most important reason behind having problem with dynamic sites to get indexed by major search engines is that Search engines often consider a dynamic URL as a set of infinite number of links.

Now days often dynamic web pages are created "on the fly" with various technologies such as ASP (Active Server Pages), Cold Fusion technology, JSP (Java Server Pages) and so on. Now all these pages are user friendly and works very will for real users actually visiting the web site, but they usually create a mess with most search engine spiders.

The main reason behind it is because all dynamic pages do not even exist until a user actually goes through a query or variable that generates the pages. Often search engine spiders are not programmed to select or choose any of query or variables. In this way, those dynamic pages do not get generated and that is why do not get to be indexed.

One of the main difficulties with search engine spiders are that they cannot read and are not trained to understand any of the dynamic databases of URLs which either contain a query string delimited by a question mark or any other database characters (#&*!%) that refers to as "spider traps." Once a search engine spider falls into any of those traps, it usually spells bad news for that dynamic web site.

As a direct consequence that most search crawlers have significant problems "reading" any level into a typical dynamic database, most of these search engine spiders have been programmed to initially detect and then ignore most dynamic URLs.

How to optimize a dynamic site to get it indexed by major SE's:

1. Using URL Rewriting Tools or Softwares - There are some URL Rewriting Tools and software available on the web that converts a dynamic URL to Static URLs. So it is better to use these tools to convert a dynamic URL of your site to Static URL.

For an example- Exception Digital Enterprise Solutions offers software that helps to change the dynamic URLs to static ones.In this way, changing a dynamic URL to static one helps it to get easily indexed by Google.

2. Using CGI/Perl Scripts - Using CGI/Perl scripts is one of the easiest ways to get your dynamic sites indexed by web crawlers. Path_Info or Script_Name is a variable in a dynamic application that contains the complete URL address.

In order to correct this problem, it is needed to write a script that will pull all the information before the query string and set the rest of the information equal to a variable.

When you are using CGI/Perl scripts, the query part of the dynamic URL is assigned a variable. So, in the above example "?id=586" is assigned a variable, say "X". The dynamic URL [http://www.xyz.com/abcproduct.asp?id=586] will change to- [http://www.xyz.com/productname/A ]

through CGI/Perl scripts that can be easily indexed by the search engines.

3. Managing Web Servers-

Apache Server - Apache has a rewrite module that enables you to turn URLs containing query strings into URLs that search engines can index. This module however, isn't installed with Apache software by default, so you need to check with your web hosting company for installation.

ColdFusion - It is needed to reconfigure ColdFusion on your server so that the "?" in a query string is replaced with a '/' and pass the value to the URL.

4. Static Page linked dynamic Pages - Creating a Static Page that linked to an array of dynamic Pages becomes very effective especially in case you are the owner of a small online store. Initially just create a static page linking to all your dynamic pages. And optimize this static page for search engine rankings.

Make sure to include a link title for all the product categories, place appropriate "alt" tag for the product images along with product description containing highly popular keywords relevant to your business. Submit this static page to various major search engines including all the dynamic pages as per the guidelines for search engine submission.

In this way if you are going to optimize a dynamic website then all above tips can help you to successfully optimize your website and your site will get indexed by major search engines without facing any problem and you have a great chance to take your site among top ranks on major search engines.

Generating Debt Leads by Using Mobile Marketing

If you are in the debt leads generation industry, you know there are plenty of ways to generate debt leads. As a leading debt leads company in our industry, we have found that Search Engine Optimization and Pay-Per-Click campaigns can be an amazing source for generating debt leads.

If you are a debt leads generation company and you're using these methods of generating leads, you should know that the least amount of fields for the consumer to fill out, the higher the lead conversion. Every field will reduce the change of the user clicking on the submit button.

One field you should very much start looking into including in your form which many lead generators do not use is the "cell phone" field. Why? Because think how many people you can reach via mobile text with the same message you use on a landing page and convert that lead for customers.

You know how well email marketing list convert, this can be an even better source for generating live leads to customers. Think about it. You generate a lead for your own lead generation company, you send the lead a text message to call by clicking a phone number, and once they call your offices, you do a live-debt transfer lead which are sold for more money than a regular debt lead form.

Another easy way to generate debt leads by using mobile marketing tactics is by creating a landing page or banners online for consumers in debt to text a certain code to a phone number which will indicate they are interested in receiving a phone call from debt specialist. This strategy can be very effective in terms of contact rate because you already know that is a working phone number.

Both mobile marketing strategies include text message as it currently is one of the primary ways to communicate in the United States, maybe the world. If communicating through text is one of the primary ways of communication, why wouldn't you make it part of your marketing efforts? Television and Email have been dominating the communication channels for years. We are seeing a new age of social media domination where websites such as Facebook connect millions of people with each other.

As mobile keeps growing in the online market as well, now is the time to really consider how you can use mobile marketing to generate debt leads for your company.

Winning With Long Tail Keywords - Become an Authority in Your Niche

Most accomplished webmasters and SEO experts will mirror my words here. Winning in the long tail is essential to becoming an authority in your niche. Too often do webmasters go for the "frontal assault" when trying to win a niche, which more often than not results in their competition finding out about them, then pushing them out of the game with their strong list of long tail rankings. So, what can you do in order to dominate your niche and become an authority?

Google Ranks Based On Relevancy

Amongst other things in their complex algorithm, Google ranks websites in their index based on site relevancy. So, a site that ranks for one topic may rank quite well in Google, however another site that ranks for that same topic, plus several other related keywords would appear to Google as being more informative, and getter value per search for the end user.

At the end of the day, what needs to be kept in mind that if people stop searching in Google, there will be no Google. So, as a means of making sure that people are happy with their search engine, they must incorporate certain features into their algorithm so that results are as relevant as possible. As a result, SEO is the process of understanding what we can confirm from this very little understood algorithm.

A Long Tail Rich Site Will Rank Well

As a result of the above, a website that ranks well for a variety of related keywords, will always rank naturally for the main keyword. This is how Google delivers relevant results to their end user and keeps people coming back time and time again. Accordingly, a website that contains no real content, but tries to rank for one main keyword will always struggle in the search engines.

The trouble here is that a natural part of completing any off page SEO campaign on a website will almost always result in ranking for your main keyword along with several other long tail keywords. So, what can we do to make this process work out better.

Rank In The Long Tail First

An authority website in your niche will generally rank well for a very large number of keywords, and as such, they will find it hard to track the performance of all of these keywords. Hence the phrase, "rank in the long tail first". This is also referred to as being a sneak attack, and the flanking maneuver, meaning that it is easier to sneak up on your competition, and dominate in your niche without them realizing it until you have dominated.

The process is simple. Research your niche, and the topics that you want to write about. Once you have identified a set of long tail keywords, initially focus around 80% of your time on ranking for these keywords via the usual methods of SEO. Once you can see that you have started dominating for these keywords, then shift your focus onto a 50/50 long tail and ego keyword basis. By this time, your competition will have spotted you, however, they will have no other option but to watch you climb all over them.

Search Engine Optimisation - Content

This is the text element on your web pages.

It needs to be of good quality and of benefit to the reader. Just having any old content will not get you rewarded by Google et al - they do recognise good quality content - as they do not want to send searchers to sites that are under par.

1. Aim for about 300-500 words per page - with images, and if appropriate also use audio/visual media. Remember to use 'alt' tags for your media.

Update your content or add more at least once a month to keep you in the search engines eyes -as it were. New content will get you 'spidered' and your site fresh in the search engines.

[Spider is an automated program that indexes all the web pages it locates online.]

2. Don't just go for flashy images etc - remember it is better if images support the content than compete with it.

3. Don't have long paragraphs of text - forget normal grammar rules - and keep paragraphs to 2-4 lines if possible - it makes it more attractive to readers.

4. Use your prime keyword in the pages titles with a h1 heading [essential]

5. Bold, italicise and underline your prime keyword once within the content.

6. Don't keyword 'stuff': that is, be grammatically natural with your use of the KWs - aim for a density of about 3% - as this enough. Google penalises KW stuffing. Use synonyms an long tails too. Don't under-rate the importance of your content for search engine optimisation.

If you have difficulty finding good content, you can always outsource to freelance writers - professionals who are reasonably priced.

Dofollow and Nofollow in Link Building

Dofollow refers to links that do not have nofollow attribute. It is recognized as a vote and the link will be crawled by the search engine spiders. If the link is dofollow, the page rank of the webpage can be transferred into your site. Links with nofollow links are less likely to be crawled. No follow simply means that the webmaster does not want to have anything to do with the link.

The dofollow and nofollow attributes are originally created by Google to reduce the amount of spam in the blogging community. Before it was implemented, many people like to leave their links in the comment body while commenting on the blog posts. The amount of spam is so overwhelming that it cause problems for the blog moderator. Google created the dofollow/nofollow terms so that the moderators don't have to worry about the link juice of their page flowing out to unrelated websites.

Since the implementation of nofollow, the amount of spam comment has greatly reduced. To determine if a site is dofollow, you simply right click on the link. When the right click menu pop up, you should select Properties. If the Properties dialog box state new_window, open in new window or dofollow, it indicates that it is a dofollow site. If it states nofollow or external nofollow, it means that it is nofollow. Another more accurate method is to install the Mozilla Firefox NoDoFollow addon. The Mozilla Firefox NoDofollow add on will highlight the dofollow and nofollow link in separate color.

To reap the maximum benefit, make sure you submit to a dofollow site. If you submit to a nofollow site, your backlink will never be indexed. If the backlink is not indexed, it will not be counted as a vote for your site. Therefore, it is important that your link is dofollow so that it does get indexed by the search engines.

How RSS Feeds Help in SEO Optimization

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication is a web feed that is designed to publish updated content such as blog post, podcast and video. Submitting your RSS feeds to the blog directory allows the search engine to crawl your blog more often so that it can pick up new content. You will also increase the backlink to your site by submitting to the blog directory. There are many blog directories where you can submit your RSS feed. Some of the blog directories which accept RSS feed URL include blogarama.com, blog.com and Blog Catalog.

The titles should have at least 50 - 75 characters. To increase the readability, you should not use HTML code in the title. The RSS title should be write in such as way that it grab the attention of the reader. The RSS title functions just like the page title. You should use important keywords in the title so that users can easily find it when performing a search.

In order for people to easily find your RSS feed, you should always include keyword in the description. The description will provide a brief summary of the content of the blog post. You can include 2 - 3 keywords in the description. Despite that, the description should not be purely written for the search engine optimization, but it should be written in an interesting way to attract the attention of readers. By using keyword in the feed title and description, people will more likely find your feed and subscribe it.

You can add an image to the RSS feed to grab people's attention. The image should be a minimum of 88 x 31 and a maximum of 144 x 400. Using image in RSS feed can establish brand recognition. If you prefer, you can add images to the description field. You should also include a full URL to the image in case the feed fail to retrieve the image locally.

The Truth About Search Engine Optimisation

There are lots of articles on the internet on search engine optimisation and how to do it successfully both on your own website and for others. You will notice however that there are differences of opinion in every article that you read. The reason for this is simple. Search engine optimisation is an art rather than an exact science. The only people who can say 100% that what you are doing is correct are the search engines themselves.

There are a lot of people out there who have had success with their own methods of performing SEO and who regularly produce information for us all to read. The successful people in the world of SEO have one thing in common. They are all extremely passionate about the subject. It is this passion that drives them forward with second guessing the ranking factors that are updated regularly by the search engines. Whilst SEO isn't an exact science the SEO world and the experts have reported quite extensively various consistencies in ranking factors and it is these consistencies that the whole industry has been built upon.

I need to mention quite quickly that SEO isn't a quick process unless you have an extremely niche idea that nobody else has had before. There are no set timescales or secret formulas that lead to top rankings and anybody telling you otherwise are probably doing something that isn't ethical and should be avoided at all costs. If you look at it logically if it were as easy as simply doing x y z then why share the knowledge when they could keep it for themselves and optimise their own websites for financial gains only.

After looking at hundreds of SEO articles and attending many conferences it is fair to say that the one thing that overrides anything else is quality content. If you can ensure that your website content is original and interesting to your market you stand a real chance of ranking well. The reason for this is the search engines reward quality content and the better the content the more chance you have of people linking to you. I'm not going to go into detail on how to optimise your website here as there are thousands of articles out there that can guide you on this subject.

What I will say is that after top quality content and quality inbound links to your website this is where people's opinions differ on the subject, and it is really difficult to decide who to believe. Going back to an earlier point why should you believe them in the first place as if they have the answer why are they sharing it with you? The fact is, unless you are the person who decides who ranks where and why, you are never really going to know how to truly optimise your website.

As a result if you are going to optimise your own website you need to be prepared to put the time in as you will need to read as many different article, blog post and attend as many conferences and webinars as humanly possible on a continuous if not daily basis so you can hear other people's ideas on the subject and keep up with the latest trends. Then to be successful you need to perform your own testing and come up with your own theories based on your findings and everything else you have read and listened to. It's a long continuous sometimes frustrating journey SEO and for this reason only the passionate are successful.
