World of Warcraft, which is often referred to lovingly as WoW, is a massively multiple player online role playing game (MMPORPG), that was first created by Blizzard in 2004. However the Warcraft world has been around since 1994.

FarmVille - What the Heck is It?

If you are a fan of the social media site Facebook, then you have undoubtedly heard of the latest addictive game, FarmVille. This clever competition is the brainchild of game specialist Zynga and revolves around honing your farming skills.

That's right; you buy and plow land, purchase animals, plant and harvest crops, and milk the cows.

When you begin to play, you must first pick a character that you feel fits with your personality. After you have actually become a farmer in theory, you begin to cultivate seeds followed of course by planting them. Believe it or not, some crops will need to be harvested in only a few hours. Most you will harvest every few days as you must bring them in before they spoil.

Harvesting crops allows you to earn coins as well as experience points which will allow you to move up levels, the ultimate goal of every farmer. Every level presents you with the chance to make more money which you can use to buy a snazzy house later in the game. The higher you level up, the more improved your crop options become. You may also send free gifts to your friends who are also farmers, as you can release new gifts with every level you move up.

One of the most important factors in FarmVille is gaining a lot of neighbors for your farm. The more neighbors you have, the more your farm will grow. You can actually help these neighbors by watching over their farm. Of course this will earn you a few coins and experience points (Wouldn't expect you to do it out of the goodness of your heart!).

So basically FarmVille is your chance to pretend you are a farmer and yet be competitive with your friends by seeing who can move up the most levels the fastest.

Tanking Death Knight Tree Changes in World of Warcraft Cataclysm

It was announced on the official World of Warcraft forums that developers are planning to implement some changes that will make the Blood tree the primary choice for the tanking tree for all Death Knight in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. As the game is now, Death Knights have 2 viable trees for tanking - Frost and Blood. Both trees have some cool talents and abilities which provide the Death Knights with increased survivability, health regeneration and damage mitigation talents for both melee and spell damage.

The plan is to make only 1 tree with all tanking talents for the Death Knights when World of Warcraft: Cataclysm comes. Developers explain that it will be nice to avoid the confusion when choosing tanking spec and to be able to access all the abilities and skills at the same time. This is why they have decided to give DKs a dedicated tanking tree, similar to the other three tank classes - Paladin, Druid and Warrior.

Recently one of the Blizzard employees, named Ghostcrawler explained in an official blue post about all the reasons and intention Blizzard staff members have when it comes to Death Knight tanking. It seems that the development team wanted to see how it can work out to have an actual choice of tanking tree and to allow players to choose between two viable options when it comes to tanking. This was meant to be a test, and it turned to work out just fine.

However, a lot has happened in the game after WOTLK was released - the new dual specialization was introduced, the new Dungeon Finder feature was introduced and much more. There are even more changes coming with World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and one of them will make a really large impact on the talent choices - the new Mastery concept. This is why the developers have decided that even though tanking as both Frost and Blood works just fine for the Death Knight class, tweaking the Masteries so they benefit 2 trees will be a bit more complicated. As a result, they decided to have just 1 tanking tree for the Death Knights, and focus the proper Mastery bonuses for that tree.

In Cataclysm, Blood will be the death knight version of a Protection tree. It will have passive talent tree bonuses that reflect tanking. It will have tools necessary for tanking and the Death Knights will have it easier when choosing both talent tree and talent points as they will gain access to abilities and skills which will help them perform their tanking role.

Even though this is a major change, I'm sure that it will work really well in the long run, because so far all changes made by Blizzard have proven to be for better. I'm curious to see how the Death Knight Blood tree will look in Cataclysm, but I will have to wait a bit more just like everyone else for the detailed trees to be announced.

Farmville Co-Op - A Great Way to Level Up

The new co-op farming in FarmVille really pays off. It's an excellent way to level up very quickly. To form a co-op you decide who and how many people you want to join, and then invite them. If they decide to help out, and you succeed at the task, you rake in some serious coin and xp points.

Now, first thing you want to do is go to the co-op section and decide which challenge you want to take. For instance, if you decide on the Frantic for Flowers category you'll have to finish this mission in 4 days and 3 hours. If you do it in the time allowed you and your partners will rake in 904 coins and 1035 xp points. Not to shabby...

If your into morning glories, which are very pretty blue flowers, you can join one called the Town Greening. In this co-op you will grow morning glories to make the town beautiful. If you succeed you'll be looking at 516 coins and 589 xp. The time frame allowed to finish this mission is 2 days 9 hours. Think you can do it? Of course you can! Don't forget to water them! Just kidding they don't need water.

How about cranberries and grapes? You need to harvest these for a school trip and if you do take this project will it will give you 866 coins and 983 xp points. This job gives you 4 days and 21 minutes to complete.

There are several more options to choose from in the co-op section, each with a little bit different challenge but all having one thing in common and that's your neighbors standing by your side to help you. If by chance you do not succeed on your mission you will still get the payout for whatever you planted. So it's a win win situation, why not give it a try.

Changes to Abilities and Mechanics For Shaman in World of Warcraft Cataclysm

In addition to adding new spells, Blizzard Entertainment is planning to make changes to some of the other abilities and mechanics Shamans are currently familiar with. So far, only some details have become available to the community, but I'm sure there is a lot more to come in the next few months before World of Warcraft: Cataclysm hits the market. Here is what we know so far about the changes to Shaman's abilities and game mechanics.

Restoration Shamans (like all other healing classes) will have to pay attention to their mana management as the changes taking place will make healing a bit more complicated. Casters will actually have to be mindful of their mana bar and which spells they are using. Spirit will be the Resto Shammies mana regeneration statistic - this is valid for all healers in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Now, Shamans benefit most from mp5 and have little to no use of Spirit. This upcoming change will make the Resto Shaman gear, enchants and gems look a bit different than they do now. Restoration Shamans are also getting Remove Magic ability, but they will no longer be able to remove poisons. They will still be able to remove curses.

Interesting fact is that Cleansing Totem will be removed from the game. This will be done because developers would like to have cleansing to be something done when players decide to do so, and not simply drop a totem and not bother to think when it's a good thing to cleanse /remove magic and when this is not a good idea. At the moment, there are some encounters in the game where dropping a cleansing totem by mistake might cause a raid wipe. I assume there will be similar encounters in the future as well and removing Cleansing Totem will make it more challenging for the shamans but also more safe.

Totem of Wrath now replaces Flametongue Totem for all shaman in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Dropping Totem of Wrath will buff the group's spell power by 4%. Some additional talents are being introduced to the Elemental Shamans which will allow all Fire totems to provide additional +10% spell power and allow the shamans to keep their spell damage buffs. Notice however, that the 4% and 10% buffs will be exclusive with each other and with the warlock's Demonic Pact, so you can't benefit from all of them at once.

With the Mastery system, new bonuses are being introduced to all 3 talent trees Shamans can choose from. They announced at this point Mastery Passive Talent Tree Bonuses might get some changes or adjustments, but in general they will look like this (1st, 2nd and 3rd level Mastery as follows):

Elemental: Spell damage, Spell Crit and Elemental Overload, where Elemental Overload: Your direct-damage spells have a chance to proc a less powerful 'bonus" version of the spell.

Enhancement: Melee damage, Melee Haste and Nature Damage, where Nature Damage: Provides a passive bonus to the Nature damage dealt by the Enhancement shaman.

Restoration: Healing, Meditation and Deep Healing, where Deep Healing: Your direct heals will do more healing when the target's health is lower. This will scale to damage rather than have arbitrary break points.

Hunter BM Leveling Spec and Hunter Pet Spec

So, you're leveling a new hunter, and want to be sure you're using the best spec for the job? Well, a hunter BM leveling spec is just what you need; this spec gives your pet the ability to tank extremely well, gives you good mana and health efficiency, and is far less gear reliant than either Marksman or Survival. So nothing really compares to it when it comes to leveling! Here's my own BM leveling spec, the one I myself used to level my hunter (and the hunter pet spec I use with it!):

5 New Spells and Abilities For Shaman in World of Warcraft Cataclysm

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that they will be making lots of changes and additions to class talents and abilities in their next expansion to World of Warcraft - World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. They have already announced some of the changes and the new spells in store for the Shamans.

New Shaman Spells:

Primal Strike (available at level 3): Primal Strike is a new weapon-based attack that every shaman will learn very early in the game (at level 3 most shamans are still in their starting zone, so they will learn this new spell before they even leave their starting area). The idea behind this ability is to make leveling as Enhancement viable, since at the moment many key Enhancement talents become available at fairly high levels.

Healing Wave (available at level 4): While the shamans already have an ability called Healing Wave, Blizzard is adding another spell to the class's direct-healing arsenal and giving it a familiar name. The current Healing Wave will be renamed to Greater Healing Wave. This will effectively add a new healing spell which will be something "in between" Lesser Healing Wave and Greater Healing Wave.

Unleash Weapon (available at level 81): This will be a new ability with a 15 second cooldown. It will unleash the power of the shaman's weapon enchants for additional effects, for example: 
Windfury Weapon - Hurls a spectral version of your weapon at a target, dealing 50% weapon damage and increasing the shaman's Haste for the next five swings. 
Flametongue Weapon - Deals instant Fire damage and buffs the shaman's next Fire attack by 20%. 
Earthliving Weapon - Heals the target slightly and buffs the shaman's next healing spell by 20%.

Healing Rain (available at level 83): An area-effect heal-over-time spell that calls down rain in a selected area, healing all players within it. This is new and a very cool ability which will add to the Restoration Shaman's healing spell arsenal allowing them to have abilities similar to Holy Priests Circle of Healing and Resto Druid's Wild Growth. The Healing Rain will last for 10 seconds and it will have 2 seconds cast time. Adding another group/raid HOT to the Resto Shaman's spells will make them even more effective raid healers.

Spiritwalker's Grace (available at level 85): This will be a self-targeted buff when active, shaman's spells are no longer interrupted by movement and possibly even by shaman's own attacks. This will give shaman of all three specs another way to heal or do damage when it's necessary to move and reposition during both PvE and PvP combat. As it is now, shamans have hard time healing "on the go" as most of their healing spells require casting time and if they have to move and stand on another spot, they have to cancel their spellcast and start all over when they are repositioned.

From examples above, it is clear that Blizzard has planned to give shamans (especially Resto Shamans) some cool new abilities to allow them to be a bit more competitive on raid healing as well as on healing while the encounter requires a lot of movement.

Wow Hunter PvP

There are few things more effective in WoW than a player who is really good at Hunter PvP. It does not matter if you are just starting to explore the Battlegrounds with your Hunter, or you've got hundreds or thousands of kills under your belt, no doubt you are looking for ways to improve your Kill count and earn more Honor Points per session. After all Honor = Gear!

The rewards of effective PvP play are staggering. By racking up Honor Points you make available to your Hunter a whole new world of gear, weapons and armor that non PvP players (or bad PvP players) simply don't have access to. Add to the great loot the playing experience of one on one battle in the chaotic environment of the player vs player system and your entire understanding of both your character and the overall game mechanics greatly improve. There is no doubt that Hunters that learn how to really clean up in PvP also do well above average in the regular environment and in raiding situations.

In the regular environment (excluding Raid situations) of the World of Warcraft there is a great deal more leeway in playing style. A Hunter of any spec, gear setup and pet choice will pretty much do all right in most situations. He (or she) will be able to pretty much get by, take down mobs, rack up XP, make some gold and so on...it is not as detailed and demanding. You are able to stray from your spec, use your pet a bit against it's purpose and generally feel your way though.

When you put a Hunter in PvP, however, things are radically different. When running in Player vs Player, if you want to do well, you simply have to know what you are doing. There is no "One Man Show" in this situation. The ability to read those around you, both friend and enemy, and then use your Hunter to the best of his (or her!) ability is critical. Where in the normal game a Hunter can get away with a bit of sloppy play for the most part in the Battlegrounds a Hunter must be able to play it's part and play it well.

A big reason many World of Warcraft players, Hunters probably more so than others, get frustrated with PvP is it's tough! It can be demoralizing and frustrating. Getting killed over and over, watching seemingly inferior low level players eat you for lunch and overall confusion drive many from this ultimately rewarding, and really enjoyable, aspect of the game.

Don't get frustrated and deny your Hunter access to all the rewards and benefits of PvP play! Take your time, learn the ins and outs, understand how to play to your characters strengths. It will be well worth the effort, and you'll have a blast doing it!

FarmVille - The Addiction to Leveling Up

What is it about FarmVille that has people rushing home from work to reach that next level, an addiction? I know when I first heard about this game I was like what's the big deal? Don't people have anything better to do with their time? Let me tell you, being addicted to this game is putting it mildly. I think junky would be a better word.

Leveling up in FarmVille is like a horse racing for the finish line, you can't get there fast enough. People are always looking for new or better ways to climb that ladder and get one step closer to that level 70 prize. It is not that easy, as a matter of fact, it's tough! Ingenious is all I can say to the makers of this game. I think I'm a junkie, I hope there's a clinic somewhere.

Leveling up comes from a dedication to your farm. You really have to discipline yourself to tend to it every day. Plowing, planting and harvesting crops routinely is a sure way to get what you want. Then ultimately you'll be one step closer to having the ultimate farm.

The strawberries are definitely a good way to start out if your new to the game. You can harvest them every 4 hours and you get 1 xp point. The payout in terms of coins is not that great but you can harvest several crops a day so that makes up for it. The raspberries are another one, these will be ready in only 2 hours.

If you have time to get back to your farm frequently you can't go wrong with berries. There are many ways to level up, picking the right ones is the trick!

Hunter PvP Spec

What Hunter PvP Spec should I use? A common question you'll see in World of Warcraft forums and chat boards. No matter your Hunter PvP Spec there is one important and obvious point that many players miss: To be really good, and soak up the Honor Points, you simply must play to your spec! Sounds simple, right? Well it is, but many players just don't do it.

Let's quickly run down the available spec's you can choose from:

Marksman: A popular PvP spec this setup is focused on one thing: DPS (damage per second). As a Marksman your job is to deal damage and lots of it. With the potential for some huge burst damage those Hunters that choose to go Marksman have the ability to really rack up Honor Points and get to the top of the charts for damage and kills.

Beast Master: This spec is set up to place a large part of the Hunters power within his pet. This is often seen as a drawback as in order to be fully effective the Hunters pet must be alive and kicking. To be a successful Beast Master in PvP takes dedication, concentration and a true understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the build. This can actually be an advantage if you decide to really master this spec as few players will use it. The whole element of surprise thing.

Survival: This one is considered to be perhaps the most flexible Hunter Spec. Survival offers the most leeway in effective playing style depending on the way you build it up. Generally this setup allows for more crowd control with extra traps and so on. There is really no commonly accepted "correct" build for a PvP Survival Hunter as there is even a big difference between an optimal build for Battlegrounds and the Arena. Long story short the Survival build can be devastating in PvP but you really need to know what your goals are and what your main focus is to be to get the right combination of gear, pet, glyphs and talents.

Obviously there are a ton of different possible combinations when you consider everything that goes into a Hunter build. The trick is to zero in on what you want to accomplish and then really drill down and understand everything that goes into making and playing the Hunter PvP spec that works for you. Once you've got that set it is simply critical to understand the strengths and weaknesses of that build and how to play it most effectively.

Without some guidance and understanding you may continue to muddle around the lower end of the charts in the Battlegrounds. However if you take the time to learn the ins and outs, to really get to the nuts and bolt of a specific Hunter PvP Spec you will be simply amazed at what you can accomplish. When you see your kill numbers skyrocket and your Honor Points explode it will all be worth it. And it's a heck of a lot of fun!

Hunter PvP - Three Things to Focus on

Hunter PvP in the World of Warcraft is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the entire game when you know what you're doing. If you have dabbled in PVP a bit with your hunter, or you spend a lot of time in the Battlegrounds but are getting frustrated, don't get overwhelmed!

With the Hunter class you have a lot of options on how you can approach the situation. Three of the biggest factors in your approach will be your spec, your gear and your pet. You may have seen a hunter, very similarly outfitted as yourself and of a similar level, totally dominate the playing field while you just can't seem to put it all together. If you haven't yet just wait, you will. What's the difference between you and him? How is that other guy (or gal) able to mow down the enemy and gets tons and gobs of Honor Points while you find yourself getting overrun at every encounter?

The difference, 9 times out of 10, is the other guy is playing to the strengths of his Hunter setup and you, simply, are not (even if you think you are). The number of variables in character setup is stunning when you consider talents, gear, pets, gems, spec and everything else. The best way to start figuring out how really rack up kills and Honor Points in PvP is to really consider your character and do a run down the of big three: Spec, Gear and Pet.

Start with your spec: What are you? There are some huge differences in PvP play between Marksman, Beast Master and Survival setups. If you are, even unconsciously, playing in a style against your spec you are simply not going to get very far.

Your Gear: Are you trying to tank a bit too much with your non-PvP gear on? Find yourself getting killed in a matter of seconds and you're not really sure why? Do you wish your main weapon was hitting a lot harder than it is? And you're not sure what the problem is?

Your Pet: While the pet is a big part of the hunter class it is often the most misunderstood and underutilized aspect of the hunters game. Time and time again you will see players in PvP, even well geared players, misusing their pet and getting wasted over and over.

To play a Hunter in PvP well takes knowledge, understanding and practice. The rewards, however, can be huge. Not only will the dominating player on the field get tons of Honor (which equates to awesome gear) but your entire playing style, both in and out of the Battlegrounds, will benefit.

It is not surprising to find a lot of Pet games lately in Facebook as nearly every major developer are now in full steam to make their own version. This week we will review into Zynga own version of pet game, PetVille.

Gameplay 
We first start by looking what Zynga has to offer us in PetVille after so many developers has gone where no man has gone before, pet simulators! Now first off we always start the game with the character creation screen and not to my surprise I find this in PetVille.

The pet creation screen is rather simple to follow for any age group. From what I can see, this game was made for the younger audience, but adults may find it rather interesting as well. Personally speaking here, this is getting a bit troublesome lately as a lot of games are now promoting this sort of options to make more money out of the people in Facebook.

Now let us forget about the money part. We will go to the shopping area where you decide to get what you want in the shopping malls. Players can also start dressing up their pets the way they see fit. From shirts to hats and so on! This is rather normal, but some cloths are rather interesting really. This is rather a fun feature as players may not expect what will happen on the personality they focus their pets on. Points can usually be gain by giving your pets food (Which can be asked from friends or buy with Facebook money)

Mini-game is also made available to players as there are a few types of games that players can jump into like Pop the bubbles blow up or pick up weekly challenges if you feel up to it. Weekly challenges are changed weekly and new challenges will be provided to players to achieve the goal. Players will then have to decide if they wish to play it or just wait for new challenges the next coming week.

Finally, players may find that their pet will tap the screen if no mouse movement is detected on the Flash game. Cute feature if you ask me.

PetVille is fully 3D when it comes to the pets themselves. You can see the pet moves smoothly on the screen as it tries to get your attention or even just doing nothing. The environment and the inventories are also nicely done as all the textures and sprites are well design and colorful to attract anyone's attention.

PetVille has a very happy like type of music and your pet will make various kind of noise as he or she goes around and does her usual routine. Once in a while you might even hear birds and cricket singing in the background. This might sound a bit weird especially when you are actually indoor.

Music Pets is yet another pet game which is available to the Facebook community. This game however is a bit more different from the other pet games I have encountered so far. Developed by Conduit Labs, this game provides an addition twist to how pet games work.

Gameplay

Music Pets is about raising a pet and also having music in their life. Sounds a bit out of the ordinary but for those really like music should like this pet game.

The game starts you off with the screen selection of the Pet you want to have. From there you will choose a name and also a gender for your Pet. Unlike most other pet games, Music Pets does not allow you to change the look of your pet; instead the look is fixed by the developers. For my case, I choose a baby fox for this review. (Yes, I love fox)

Once you have picked which pet you want, you will then be asked to pick the room that you wish your pet to live in. After all that is done the game will provide you with a selection screen. This screen will allow you to pick the artist or music albums that you will see and hear during the games. Music selection is rather limited and not all songs provided will be suitable for everyone's taste.

After that decision making, your pet will be placed in his or her new home. This is where you will be visited by the Mayor of Pet City and you will be show how the game works.

The first thing you are asked to do is to ask your Pet to "fetch" you an album in the city. From there you will be provided 3 songs to play per-day. Playing songs on Music Pets will allow your pet to regenerate their happy points which in turn can be used for training your pets and earn some rewards.

Your pet will also have an energy bar which will allow him or her to do other specific task like fetching new songs and add it into your play list.

In order to retain some of your happy points in the game, the Mayor will tell you that you can replenish it by playing a song in your album collection, consume happy fruits/food and visit your friends pet and socialize a bit.

Now we will look a bit into the environment, it will be rather empty at first in the game and while you can always visit friends and the mayor's resident, nothing much can be done during the first stage of the game.

So let us head to the training, the training is more like a mini-game for your pet and so far, I only found 1. This is rather a drop a ball and hit what you can on the screen type of the mini-game. The goal to this game is to hit the name of the album or artists that you have selected on the screen. Once players complete the game, this will add to your collection points and also reward you with some money.

Your pet also needs to eat once in a while, so do visit the chef and get the food needed to keep your pet energy level. Food is not free so you need to spend a bit on your credits to get it.

Finally the game allows you to decorate your pet's house. This is what you find in most pet games inventory from bed, to table furniture and to posters. You can do this after you gain enough credits and to make your pet as comfortable as possible.

Graphics

From the look of the graphic, this game is nothing to be WOW at as it looks the same as any other pet games in Facebook. Animation is limited and nothing much to do then to talk around the room or play with your pet. You cannot even personalize your pet much, only thing offer is to change color on their furs.

Sound

The best in the game, but one level lower the Super Dance. Music is very nice to listen to and you can choose from various artists on your play list. Famous Artist like U2 and also Lady GAGA is provided for player to choose any, however if player need more collection or the selection of songs is not available, player will have to buy it from the internet. I bet real world currency will be involved if player wants their music to appear in the game. Please do bear in mind that most of the songs listed in the game are not up to date and if players do need the latest one, they will have to purchase it.
