I always start off any campaign by visiting the ClickBank marketplace or any other affiliate or CPA network that i am a member of. If you use ClickBank then look at offers that have a high gravity as this means that there are lots of other affiliates promoting the offer.

Don't look at competition as a threat, when you see lots of competition, the chances are that there's a lot of money to be made, or the other people promoting it would not waste their time otherwise.

- For the purpose of this article, i will choose the "Make Money Online" market. So i have been over to the ClickBank marketplace and have seen that "Miracle Traffic Bot" has the best gravity. This is a type of software that would increase traffic so its on a popular subject.

Finding Your Keywords

Once you have found a market that you wish to target, its time to find the keywords. I use the Google keyword tool as this gives you a great idea of whats popular within the market. Your SEO marketing depends on these kind of tools to find the best words to target.

Choose two keywords that have a high monthly search volume so you know that there's enough traffic to convert into sales. Ideally you would target a keyword with at least 5,000 monthly searches. When you have two of these keywords, you can move on to the next stage.

- As an example for this article, i have visited the keyword tool to find keywords for the product i picked from the "finding a market" section shown above and i would choose "increase targeted traffic" and "targeted website traffic". These are the two keywords that you want to rank on the first page of results within Google.

The Method You Can Use

As you are using SEO marketing to advertise your affiliate program, you would need to use a strong domain in order to gain the best rankings. If you use a new domain then Google will not take much notice of your site for a long, long time, so its easier to use a popular domain that has a high authority within Google such as HubPages, EzineArticles or Squidoo.

For the purpose of this article i will say that I'm going to use EzineArticles to gain first page rankings for the keywords i have picked.

When i write my article, i must make sure that my keywords are visible within the title, the summary and within the body of my article to make it as relevant as possible for ranking purposes. I usually place each keyword in my article "once" every "100" words.

TIP: For my keywords picked above i can merge them together which is ideal, so my title could be 
"Increase Your Targeted Website Traffic Using Automated Software". This allows me to then increase my rankings for the keywords chosen as well as making the article nice to read.

Write a good, 500 word article that is related to the offer you are promoting, making sure that you explain the issues surrounding this subject and then a brief outline of how people can overcome the issue. Don't write the article in a way that would advertise what you are promoting or your article may be rejected. The resource box is used to recommend a product related to the article.

Direct Linking Approach

I have used direct linking a lot in the past and have had great results. All you have to do is register a domain that is related to the product you are promoting. Use the forwarding feature within your domain control panel to redirect any visitors to your affiliate link provided by Google.

You can then include this link within the resource box of your article which is the section you can use to advertise the cure to the issues you raise within your article.

This method is ideal for newbies who cannot yet create landing pages. I would personally always use my own simple landing page that would capture the name and email address before sending the visitor to the offer as i can then sell other related products later on. The direct linking approach is not for everyone but if you cannot make a landing page then you can use this method to break down this barrier and make sales.

Increasing Your Rankings

In order to increase the rankings for your keywords, you must build relevant backlinks to the web address of your EzineArticles page. You must use anchor text which include your keywords with a link to your article. The more backlinks you build, the higher your rankings will become.

Write a few articles per day and link back to your main article within the resource box. Use many different article directories and accounts on Squidoo, HubPages, Wetpaint, Zimbio, Weebly, Blogger and WordPress to build quality links to your main ezine article.

It's a Wonderful Life - A Day in the Life of an Internet Entrepreneur!

It is a bright Spring morning on the South coast of England and the calm, serene atmosphere is only occasionally pierced by the sound of seagulls perched on top of the roof.

This serenity is about to be shattered by the arrival of my 11 year old son from his bedroom. Stormy, moody and sullen he's realised that it's a school day and he's determined that everyone is going to share in his misery.

After doing the necessary Fatherly duties (I am a single parent and so have to fit both male and female roles in any case, you understand?). We jump in the car and drive to his school. I feel a notable sense of relief as he disappears behind the school gate and I'm eager to return home to my 'internet empire'.

You see I have been an Internet Marketer for a while now. After gaining reasonable plaudits and forging a pretty successful career in the Computer Games business, I found myself without necessary childcare and looking for an alternative that would perhaps open new doors for me and let me work to suit the profile and demands of my life.

I arrive home and glance at the small netbook I have running permanently. This is my hobby, Forex Trading and I have several test bots and systems running 24/5 to see what results I'm getting. One of the bots in particular is looking very promising and I will transfer to a small live account soon and see what happens. I've already got a placeholder site setup (link below) that I will be publishing my findings on and promoting the ones (out of hundreds) that I see positive results with.

Next I check my emails that have come overnight. Obviously the internet is regionless and you have to be prepared to address things in a timely manner, but still with respect to your working pattern.

I note that there is a new launch coming up soon from Mike at JVNotify and so write down the details so I can consider creating a ranking review site and earn commission from that.

Next up I check my virtual assistants and outsourcers and deal with them (why do it yourself, when it's more efficient to get others to do it, I say).

We're currently about 11am now and I do my usual hour of reading through the various information mines such as the Warrior Forum. Any more and it becomes a real time-sucker!

Logging into my site backend, I check for new leads and messages from prospective team members. I've also got a 'may day' from one of my team members who has some issues with his autoresponder. I suspect something is going wrong when he's pasting the code into his page. We hook up on Skype and discuss it briefly and I arrange to remote desktop into his machine a little later to help him out.

A few invitations to webinars have arrived and I carefully select which ones make the most sense to me. They tend to take place in the evening, so I generally don't count them as part of my work regime and sit down with a nice cup of tea and soak up the new information they provide.

A bit of tinkering with some of the sites to improve their SEO, whilst munching down on lunch and we're pretty much done for the day.

It's about 1pm and I'm off strolling along the nearly cliffs, getting rid of the 'cobwebs' and seeking inspiration from the beautiful surroundings. I smile to myself remembering all the mornings and evenings sat on the M25 during some nightmare commute and wonder why I didn't do this years ago.

When I return about 2.30pm I set about preparing myself for the cyclonic force that will shortly return in the form of my son.

A few more emails have arrived including an interesting new product that someone is promoting. Looks interesting and so I might have a go at promoting it myself and will check the details on Clickbank later.

A few more tweaks to my new website promoting the vacations club I am involved in and I write up a promotion plan for it, deciding what I need to do to get it to rank in SERPs and appear in front of right audience.

My son arrives at 3.40pm (he likes to walk back from school on nice days - it's downhill and not really that far) and I've booted up Xcode and Visual Studio to work on my programming projects.

It's not because I have to anymore, rather that I want to and I've found myself more inspired over recent months because of the lack of real pressure here. I am currently working on both a new game project and tools to help my IM business - I don't think I'll ever lose the passion for coding.

5pm and I shut up shop, ready to be Dad again!

I'm at home with time for my Son, my hobbies and interests. But most of all I've had no horrible commute to deal with and what looks like a relaxed evening to look forward to. I used to finally make it through the door at around 8pm. No thanks. Not anymore!

In addition, you could only guess at the true horror that involved childcare costs for many years, not to mention that I was missing my son growing up.

There has never been an opportunity to work in this way before. The internet has opened up so much to so many and will continue to do so. Marketing is just one aspect, of course, of how you can make a living, but it has to be the most appealing to me, as you get to reach a vast audience with minimum effort.

OK, so I acknowledge that information overload is a problem. Now where do I go?

Continuing on from yesterdays post, we are discussing Information Overload and the severe impact this can have on not only your business venture, but also your mindset and overall attitude. (If you have not yet read part 1, be sure to go check out The Information Overload Safety Blanket now!) With this in mind, and taking into account what was discussed yesterday I have decided to show you EXACTLY what steps I follow to make sure I myself don't fall victim to this paralysis...

I have seen too many posts on this subject which actually stop at this point, they talk about the importance of taking action to overcome the dreaded feeling of information overload but don't provide you with any manageable tips and/or real life examples of how you can implement this change yourself, so with that in mind, here is what I personally do to avoid the 'overload beast'.

The Actionable steps that I take to beat the feeling of information overload.

• Create a Weekly Planner

-This is one of the most powerful actions you can take to beat information overload and one that is often overlooked despite the obvious impact this will have on your business building process. For example, my weekly planner sometimes looks like this:

1. Monday: Keyword and Niche research + Register primary keyword domain 
2. Tuesday: Upload domain and install WordPress - build out site 
3. Wednesday: Write two articles for each keyword ( to be used for SEO Link building) 
4. Thursday: Personal Blog posting - write 4 articles and schedule to publish 

5. Friday: PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE (Yes I have developed a little system) 
6. Saturday: Rest and relaxation with my family - no work at all REGARDLESS! 
7. Sunday: Blog commenting, social media -Relationship Building + Brand building

• Unsubscribe!

-This may seem like an unnecessary step but think about how many distractions are arriving in your inbox everyday. It is fair to assume that you have opted in to at least 10 lists by now and the gamut of spammy email that arrives in your inbox is doing nothing to help your focus. Chances are you already received the value (free gift) that you opted in for in the first place so there is no need to stay subscribed.

If the list you are on is genuinely providing valuable and timely email advise then stay subscribed for sure! But if not, by opting out you are not only removing the distractions from your inbox - you are also giving valuable feedback to the owner of the list that they are not providing you enough value to stay.

• Disconnect from the internet

-OMG! I know I know. Is that even logical? Will my life continue without cable? If that is your (humorous) reaction to the idea of disconnecting from the network then this is definitely the best step you can take to beat the paralysis of analysis. As we established early on, the internet is an endless ocean of information and unless you know EXACTLY what you are looking for, you can quickly end up drowning in a sea of confusion. Look at your weekly planner. What days don't require connection?

For example, my weekly planner sees two days that do not necessarily require any internet connection, so on Wednesday and Thursday I make sure I am not able to connect to the internet, so it's actually almost impossible to be distracted (unless either of my children wake up! RAH!)

If it helps, sometimes it's a really good idea to give yourself one day, or at the very least, a block of hours on a day that you are ALLOWED to surf the net and be bombarded with information. I say this because I know that when you stick to a plan, every nuance of your being is screaming "I'm sure there is a better way to do this" and you are itching to search for this 'way'. OK so this is the thought process that got you into the information overload headspace in the first place, but it would be too much to extinguish this feeling - so do the smart thing and factor it into your plan.

AND FINALLY...

• Give yourself a break - and a pat on the back!

-Whether you schedule a whole day off (as I have done on Saturday) or you just allow a few hours every couple of evenings to just chillax, it's important that you take the time for yourself. Apart from the obvious impact a fulltime workload would have on your family and friends, it's important from a psychological perspective to take a step back every now and again and just acknowledge the great work you have done to date.

There are a lot of sites out there that will pay you to write articles or post blogs. It can be about anything your interested in and they will pay you regarding how many clicks, or views it gets. This varies a lot but if you were to write about specific topics that they are after, it could be around $200, not bad for about an hour's work hey?

So that's writing.

Here is the second:

Create your own blog. 
Some people mistake this for needing your own web site, that is not the case. There is a site called "blogger" where you can go and register (it's free) and create your own blog about pretty much anything. Now I hear you asking "how does that make me money." Well there is a gadget called Google AdSense which you just add to your blog, and with that you will have ads from Google appear all down the side of your blog, and whenever someone clicks on them......you guessed it, you make money. To add to your income you can set up affiliate links on your blog, which brings me on to my last, and by far my favourite way to make money.

Here is the third:

Affiliate marketing. 
Affiliate marketing if you haven't heard of it, is where you promote other peoples products. The beauty of this is that you don't need to spend time writing articles or making blog sites, you just find a product that you feel passionate about, or if you are stuck for ideas then just go to Google trends to see what's hot at that time, and there is a place called ClickBank that has pretty much every product under the sun that you could promote, and then just start promoting it.
