| Reports of sexual assaults by taxi drivers rise 20% in three years The number of alleged sexual assaults committed by taxi or private hire drivers has risen by 20% in three years. According to figures released under freedom of information laws, at least 337 assaults were reported between April 2016 and March 2017 in England and Wales – up from 282 in 2014-15.
